Worlde Arcane: Ufaeria

With the permission of the artist Laura Pelick: fallenlights.net

A land that had laid for almost an eternity hidden from the rest of the Knowne Worlde, tucked away in the (until recently) unexplored southern Vericul Sea.
It is home to the Long-Lived Races of the worlde.
Thousands of years prior to the Age of Andor, the land itself was uninhabitable by all save the ancient Ice Drakes that made the continent a frozen, antarctic wasteland.
They roamed freely until about 20,000 Y.A. when their kind began to die out due to the sudden change in climate that they could no longer control.
It seemed as the great glacier began to melt, a land beneath it would begin to flourish, forcing the Ice Drakes to the unaffected Southern most points of the continent.
Where the Ice Drakes once roamed, Unicorns appeared as if by will of gods and began to make the former glacial land their idyllic garden.

It would be at the beginning of the Age of Andor when Elven settlers would arrive upon the continent, claiming to have been led there by the Light of Lothar.
These Elves would call themselves the Faerele'ky - Fair Kind - and would name the land before them Ufaeria.

Once upon the lush earth of their new home, the Faerele’ky were awarded their First Kings. So, the lands were divided, as were the Faerele’ky themselves, and a new way of life began.
The Faerele’ky isolated themselves from the rest of the Worlde for many centuries - believing it to be Lothar's Will - hoping to avoid catastrophe from outsiders. Alas, the Elves (and specifically the Doruk’hu, the Drow) turned out to be their own worst enemies: Ufaeria endured the Great War, which ravaged the lands for many years.
Ultimately, the Kingdom of Rondor prevailed in this battle, and I’niaseninelde Arandors - The Alliance of the Three Kingdoms - was formed.
However, many believe that the conflict will someday erupt once again.

The continent itself is vast. Central Ufaeria is full of lush, grassy plains, soothing shores, and majestic sovereignties. The weather is for the most part warm, though it does tend to rain quite frequently. The Northern tip consists of the dreaded Desertlands, a desert wasteland. The only kingdoms or townships that ever experience winter are closer to Ufaeria’s antarctic South. The very South of Ufaeria is composed of the Southern Barrens, a colder and much deadlier wasteland which also happens to be home to those formidable beasts, Ice Drakes.

Ufaerian Marks are of the highest worth, since their primary metal resource is Malda, Elven gold. Precious throughout the Worlde, this glittering white metal can only be melted, shaped, and formed by certain magicks.

The largest, most powerful sovereignty in Ufaeria is The Kingdom of Rondor: the monarchy there holds supreme rule.
