Worlde Arcane: Isle Obscura
 From afar, the Isle Obscura rises from the sea as black, ominous shapes cloaked by a veil of misty fog. Several tall peaks protrude from its mass, reaching toward the overcast sky that hangs like a gray pall over everything. The coastline is dominated by sheer cliffs and swirling riptides, but for those who know where to look, there are several small sheltered coves and beaches to be found. Up close, the Isle can be seen to be covered by shifting mists that never dissipate. Its sandy beaches, devoid of sun light, have a lonely and foresaken appearance. Sailors speak of the isle in hushed tones, for many who have sailed near it, have reported sightings of unearthly creatures on the jagged rocks and in the water itself. It is rumored that a long time ago, there traveled here a fleet of mighty Skylding warships, and that they were never sighted again after passing by the isle. Due to such legends, the Isle has remained uninhabited for a great many years. Naturally, the isolation of Isle Obscura makes a perfect haven for pirates and other unsavory characters who seek a place to lay low between acts of piracy, pillaging, and high treason. There is a small village located on the isle, but it is a lawless, violent place. Visitors beware. Step foot upon this isle at yer own peril. |
