Worlde Arcane: Tenara: Lake Perion

Still, dark and deep, Lake Perion is the largest lake on the continent. Legends of a dragon-like monster in its depths abound, fostered (curiously) by the local Druids who are caretakers of the lake and the Three Rivers of Life that flow into it. Krystal City sits nestled on its southern shores.

By the light of a full moon, one can see why the legends have sprung forth - the water moves and ripples for no observant reason, the waves lap upon the shore loudly as though sent there through a disturbance from the bottom.

 What may I create?

Terame decided to sit down close to the river and take a rest. He looked at the sky. Everything seemed to blurry now and he wasn't able to remain focused. He could hear the voice. He had to rest now; to sleep and escape from all this; to escape from this world.
He shook his head and forced himself to stay awake.
Suddenly he spotted a raven in the sky. He made a loud noise sounding exactly like a raven, and the bird made a dive and landed close to him.
Very quickly he spoke some words in raventongue, and the bird took off again and flew away.

He could rest only a little longer before he would have to get to the coastline.

Terame awoke.
He was still dizzy. He heard screams... Screams of spirits. Everywhere he went, he would always feel the spirits, talking to him.
He could see Kage coming in the horizon. Somewhat he was relieved to see the summoner once again. He could still use help. Something deep inside his mind had realized that he would not make it alone. He could still use help.

This sleep had not been near close to what he needed right now, but he had recovered a tiny bit of his strength. It would be enough to reach Aniada.

As Kage came to the lake, he spoke to him: "I... Could feel them coming. The Elves. And I don't reckon they were much too happy about the death of Oconor. We have to get away since I am afraid that they will try to pursue Oconor's killers at all cost. This woman, Kaotika, was kind enough to, though unwilling, create a little diversion, I think. It would make most sense to return to Aniada now. But where should we go?" he asked Kage. Something told him that their employer wasn't in the business anymore.

Kage spotted Terame near the lake. He arrived just in time to hear the mages words. He looked behind him to see if they were being pursued.
"Yes we will return to Aniada. Nrall will be here in a few moments. Kaotika tried to steal him, so he was forced to flee. I wonder who she was and why she wanted to kill him. . . . Yes we shall return to Aniada and figure out what is going on."

Terame's face darkened, and he turned towards the river as he spoke: "This Kaotika... I felt something strange about her," his eyes were glowing "extreme power. Chaotic power" he admitted to himself. "I don't know for which purpose she was there, but... Let that be the concern of some foolish hero of good, who is to die sooner or later anyway" he said, turning quickly from a tone of concern to harsh and cruel tone.
Then he turned to Kage once again: "Will you be able to conjure a mount for me, or shall we travel by other means?"

Kage looked to the sky and saw Nrall diving down to meet them. As Nrall landed Kage turned back to Terame.
"I will give Nrall my strength and he will be able to carry us to Aniada. I will be weak for most of the journey though."
With that he turned to Nrall, who had just landed, and put a hand on the monster's face. A dark cloud formed between them and blue lightning shot from one to the other. After a few moments the cloud dissappeared and Kage collapsed upon Nralls back.

Terame walked to Nrall and mounted the beast and made sure Kage wouldn't fall off.
He smiled at Nrall, still in awe of the creature.
He closed his eyes and waited for Nrall to take them to Aniada.

While waiting for Nrall to take off, Terame seemed concentrated. He was linked to the raven he had sent off to Daelows some days ago. He saw vague pictures through its eyes. It seemed that at least the top level of the tower was as it was when he had left it. Hopefully the same went for all the other rooms...

Nrall landed and took in his maasters strength. Then when everyone was mounted he leapt into the air and did a few circles. Truth be told he had no idea where he was. He looked to his master, but he was unconcious. He thought of the mage and wondered if he could translate a chaos message.
Nrall sent the mental message to Terame.
'My master sleeps, I need directions.'

Terame smiled to himself when he was interrupted by Nrall. He concentrated and sent a mental message back to Nrall showing a map of the Worlde with a marking showing where they were right now. A line marked a route to from Tenara to Aniada.
"We shall have to fly to the southern edge of the enchanted forest". The location was marked on the mental map. "People are not used to see the likes of you, Nrall, and there is no reason that we alarm them with your obvious presence" he ended his mental message.

(OOC: Do you intend to post anytime soon, Kage?)

(OOC: I am beginning to consider making a very creative interpretation of your last message, Kage, and hijack Nrall. It's getting very tempting. If you don't post in a couple of days more, I'm going to act in some way:-). I'll assume that you are on vacation, but if not, you'd better have a good excuse:-P)

(OOC: Since you gave me your permission pr. e-mail, Kage, I'll just hijack your characters for a day or two;-) )

When the beast had been given the proper instructions, he gathered all his strength and took off from the ground, now knowing where they were going. Kage was still unconscious due to the strength transfer.

The winged creature made it way towards the ocean, following the River Rhys.

The galley Sigil of Thirsus slid from the piers and out into Lake Perion's dark waters.

The galley turns west and glides along the coast.

(Sigil of Thirsus to the River Phys)

The Cottonmouth rode steadily westward, over the waters of the deep lake, bearing a messenger who had no concept of how important the correspondence he carried might be. It was a pleasant journey, the lake was not stormy, though there was a bit of chop from the wind from the west.

In the evening, the ship seemed to show no signs of pausing or stopping along the shore, and moved on westward toward the upper source of the River Phys.

The Hedge sorceror arrived at the water's edge, as he traveled from the University of Ozkar. He was outside Krystal City, and a little east of the City, when he reached a likely looking spot.

He looked around, seeing nothing unusual, and settled onto the half-rounded top of a boulder. He was faced out toward the water and in a few moments he was in a deep trance.

It was some hours later, when Bhile's trance was disturbed by the soft splash of water approaching him. He slowly opened his eyes to see the flat-deck of a lake-trading barge coming closer. The craft moved under oar power, until it had hauled in close to shore.

Bhile stood up slowly and waited.

His ride was here.

"Ask and ye shall receive," was hardly the normal way of the worlde, but he was expected in a place, so it behooved his patron to provide for him.

He stepped down from the shelf of rock onto the bow of the scow and stood there before the bargemaster. He had six deckhands, each with a pole or oar in hand.

"Ya are to take me North."

"Aye, Maester. That we are. We were expecting yew a week ago. We were nearly ready to depart without yew."

The ship slid backward in the water as they backed the oars and slowly brought the bow 'round to face north.

"Well for ya that ya did not." Bhile said, as the boat moved northward across the surface of the deep lake.

In the evening light, the northern shore, dominated by the swamp and marsh looked a deep and unsettling grey-green.

The remainder of the day passed uneventfully, and Bhile slept most of it away covered by a piece of oilcloth. He woke at night, when they were nearly out of sight of the southern shore. The bargemen had raised a much-patched sail and were making the best of a weak breeze that blew from the east.

He had a long time alone to think, so he took a wad of the foul-smelling weed from the pouch at his belt and lit it, calling sparks to do the job.

He watched the thin trail of smoke carry away to the south, where he wondered in passing what had become of his erstwhile companions of the road. He had a vague sense of peril, but that might simply have been nerves.

The boat carried him northward toward the swampy north shore of Lake Perion and the mouth of the River Spir
