Worlde Arcane: Aniada: Green Forest: The Lorimar Road 4: Northern Green League

Each section of the Lorimar Road spans a approximately a full days' ride, or roughly two days' march afoot.

Here in the Green Forest proper, so close to Churt, travellers are at high risk for assault and murder. Orcs and roving bands of brigands seem to compete to determine who can cause the most mayhem. The wise adventurer will move through this area only in the company of an armed caravan.

•Eastward travel leads to The Goblin Stretch, farther down the road 'tis four days' ride to Daelows City or three days' to Churt
•Westward travel leads to The Breeze League, with four days' ride to Kiana

 What may I create?

By Faer-Ahn (Faer)

Thursday, January 15, 2009 - 9:17 am GMT Edit | Link |

Faer noticed Gaftin's uncharacteristically untidy appearance. Had it been just any traveler he would have assumed it be due to all the creeping around in the bushes he seemed quite occupied with, but Faer knew Gaftin better than so. He was about to inquire about his condition, but Gaftin threw that flashing smile and left Faer as perplexed as ever.

"Mmm... Tenara," he replied. The truth was that he had no particular destination, but whenever he aimlessly roamed it always felt as if he was heading home. His mind drifted briefly to thoughts of Zien-Ahn accompandied by equally brief nostalgia.

"And yew?"

He made sure to keep aware of the treeline Gaftin had been perched in. Nights in these parts could be treacherous and even if Gaftin might look some-what out of shape, Faer could not completely distrust his friend's survivalist instinct.

Saturday, January 17, 2009 - 6:17 pm GMT Edit | Link |

I am headed no where but out of these parts. I thought perhaps I would return to Daelows and retrieve Bruce. Other than that I have no plans.

Gaftin proceeded to brushes the bushes and leaves from his clothing.

Friday, January 23, 2009 - 3:49 pm GMT Edit | Link |

As Gaftin drew closer the Faer he smiled broadly even as his eyes and facial expression conveyed caution. Lowering his voice he said through his smile. There are some men back there holding a woman, they believe her to be a spy. If that is true this can not end well for anyone. We should keep moving. Suddenly more loudly and cheerfully he spoke again I am pleased to see yew. I see yew still favor night travel. Shall we then? Gaftin gestured broadly as if he were holding a door open for someone to allow thier passage.

With a last glance toward the treeline -- and a fleeting thought of the odd ways of Umans and their cousins -- Faer nodded and began walking towards Daelows with Gaftin.

Friday, January 23, 2009 - 10:27 pm GMT Edit | Link |

Dero would be crouched down behind some bushes, closely watching the group. He had seen how the two he was watching reacted to each other, and figured they knew each other, He contiued to silently watch, trying to judge wether or not they were a threat

Gaftin Tought he caught a glimpse of one of the men in the bushes. He showed no reaction but stayed on alert should the man make any sort of agressive action.

Tuesday, February 24, 2009 - 8:00 pm GMT Edit | Link |

Faer sat down where he stood, facing the treeline. There was obviously something there, even if he couldn't see it. Gaftin sure could. Faer would just have to wait until someone decided to do something.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009 - 2:59 am GMT Edit | Link |

Gaftin watched quietly as Faer sat down. After what seemed like an interminable pause, but which was actually only just over a minute.

Ready to go My friend?

DEro hmm'd as he watched one of the men move away. Shrugging, he made his way back to Rishon and Rikka.

"Seems there was no reason to be alarmed."

By Warrior-agent of Churt (Rikka)

Sunday, March 1, 2009 - 3:54 am GMT Edit | Link |

Rikka lifted her head at the sound of movement in the trees, to see that Mounted Man was returning. She found it curious that his report was so vague, wondering exactly what it was he wasn't saying to the other Uman. Regardless, Running Man had said her leg would be freed when his companion returned, and here he was. "My ankle," she reminded him, daring to speak once again.

Rishon, are yew still about?)

Dero nodded and kneels down. He moves and carefully free's Rikka's ankle from the branches.

"I hope yew don't try running." He says. His steed then walks past the two, looking over them both before backing slightly.

Wednesday, April 8, 2009 - 12:52 am GMT Edit | Link |

Rikka could not have run, if someone had offered her a thousand Krowne to try. She doubted she'd be able to rise, without help. Now that she was loose, however, she dared to sit up and try to remove her boot.

By Sir Derogus the Red (Dero)

Friday, April 10, 2009 - 6:12 am GMT Edit | Link |

Dero looks her over and then see's her moving to remove her boot. He moves to aid her. "Yew may have been following us, but that doesn't mean yew don't deserve a little respect." He sheaths his sword and crouches. "Why were yew following us?"

By Warrior-agent of Churt (Rikka)

Sunday, April 19, 2009 - 6:39 pm GMT Edit | Link |

Rikka glanced back and forth between the two, weighing her words. "I am not following yew," she finally said. "We are merely going the same direction. I . . . was in search of food . . ."

It was a lie, of course, but it was the best explanation she could think of, short of giving the outright truth, as to why she'd been caught going through Running Man's things.

By Sir Derogus the Red (Dero)

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 - 12:27 am GMT Edit | Link |

Dero looked over Rikka and shook his head. "I doubt that. Yew had stamped papers from Churt. Now, yew can keep lying and make things alot more complicated, or yew can tell me the truth."

By Warrior-agent of Churt (Rikka)

Thursday, April 23, 2009 - 11:24 pm GMT Edit | Link |

"Fine," Rikka muttered, shifting her gaze aside momentarily before looking back at Mounted Man. "I was following yew because . . . because I was ordered to. Can we leave it at that? Yew are Derogus," she said, then, in an effort to change the subject. "I heard the other man call yew that . . ."

Rikka turned her head. Running Man was gone. And Rikka would have sworn she had not seen him leave. She shivered, only now realizing the strength of the magicker whose presence she had been in. "Let us leave this place," she suggested to Derogus, knowing she was in no position to bargain, but suddenly wanting very much to be gone from these woods. She tried to rise, and found she could not do so on her own.

dero offers his hand towards Rikka. "Fair enough. As yew were following orders, I can understand that." He also lead her to his steed. "Easy, boy. She can't walk too good, so she's going to ride on yew until we get to the next town." He said. He then quickly changed demeanors." But...do anything to my horse, or my person, or my money, and yew will wish I left yew here."
It would be fully obvious that he was a sword for hire to Rikka now.

Saturday, May 30, 2009 - 11:42 am GMT Edit | Link |

Rikka looked warily at the offered hand before reaching up to accept it. The words that came from Derogus' mouth were not at all what she had expected, and she was cautious of accepting them at face value. Still, the man was kind to her, helping her to hobble to his horse, and offering her a ride. "I've a mount of my own," she admitted. "Over there." Rikka pointed to the woods on the other side of the road where she'd left her own horse tied.

She'd no idea where Derogus meant to take her. Churt was nearest, but it would be true folly for either of them to return there. Kiana, perhaps . . . Regardless, they needed to move, particularly if it turned out that Running Man might return -- and choose to pursue them. "I'll wait, if yew want to get the other horse," she offered. There was no reason Derogus should trust her not to steal his mount and try to escape him, but she rather trusted him. He wasn't remotely loyal, and in Rikka's eyes, that was a good thing.

By Sir Derogus the Red (Dero)

Monday, June 29, 2009 - 6:18 am GMT Edit | Link |

Dero pondered for a moment. "Yew wait right there. I'll go get the other horse. Don't be trying to ride off with my horse, he'll only go under my hand."

He then trodded off to get the horse, his mind wondering where Rishon had gone to, but deciding not to worry about him.

He soon came to the area where the horse was said to be, and began to search for it.

Rikka was curious as to whether the mercenary's horse really was as Derogus had said, but there wasn't much point in testing him. With her injury, she'd need Derogus' help even to climb into a saddle.

It was likely the mercenary would find Rikka's own horse within a few minutes. She only hoped it would be before Rishon returned.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 2:05 am GMT Edit | Link |

Dero had succeeded in finding the horse, and lead it back towards where rikka was.

"I found yer horse. Wasn't too hard to find. Lemme help ye get on it." He says, walking over to her, offering her a hand.

Turning to take his offered hand, Rikka found herself eye to eye with Derogus for the first time. It was dark out, of course -- too dark to see his features clearly -- but she could tell he carried a scar. She stared at the scar for a moment, then, realizing she was staring, gave a tiny smile and allowed herself to be helped into the saddle.

Once Dero was also mounted, Rikka would lead the way back to the main road. While she would have preferred the darkness of the woods, the terrain within would not be safe for the horses, especially at nighttime. And yet, once they reached the road . . . she would need to make a decision as to which direction to go. One way led to Kiana, the other to Churt. Neither, for various reasons, seemed the optimum choice. She glanced at Dero, uncertain.

Dero followed closely. eyes scanning out. Even with the darkness, he felt uneasy. Knowing that perhaps that churt and kaina would be a bit uncertain, he looked to Rikka. He could not help but somehow smirk a bit, as he had a feeling that she would perhaps lead him to bigger fortune.

"Where should we go? Yew can lead for now."

By Warrior-agent of Churt (Rikka)

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 - 2:02 am GMT Edit | Link |

Rikka looked at the mercenary, wondering at his motives. He had been awfully quick to transfer his allegiance from Rishon to her. And yet, that was what mercenaries did, she supposed.

"Kiana," she answered, eventually. She was not particularly happy about that choice, but heading the other way upon the Lorimar was simply out of the question. Even if they were to carry on to Daelows, passing the roadblock at Churt would be nigh impossible, and if she returned there . . . Thrukk would have her head. It was that simple. "Kiana," she repeated, clearly unhappy. "Let us ride no more than a couple of hours, though. The horses still need to rest."

The Breeze League)

A slight growl escaped Tramer’s throat as a familiar stench flooded his senses, the sent of rotting blood and steel told him all he needed to know about this stretch of rood. His senses were on full alert as he walked, he keep tabs on every blade of grass, every leaf that blowed in the wind.

Tramer was not naïve, being alone…and at least appearing to be unarmed…he knew well he would look a easy mark to any thieving curs that might spot him. Thou, there seemed little to do about it, all he could do was continue forward and hope to avoid any attention. Still full and content form his last meal, he saw no good reason to spill any blood at the moment.

Tramer keep good pace through this stretch of rood, the sun quickly passed along the sky soon bringing night, fatigue started to grip Tramer, deciding it would be best to find somewhere to sleep for the night, he slowed his pace. Moonlight was more then enough for his sensitive eyes to illuminate the way, he ventured for several hours before finding a suitable location to rest.

A old oak tree not far off the rood cot his attention, its large outstretched limbs seemed a fitting place to rest. Quickly climbing the tree, he made his way into the denser part of the foliage, so as to be less notable to anyone passing by.

Leaning back agents the trunk of the tree he positioned himself comfortably enough, soon allowing his eyes to close, it was not long before sleep overtook him.

Tramer awoke form his slumber with a long yawn, he hated having to sleep in his Uman form, he always woke up so groggy. Climbing down the tree he looked around and debated of which way to go, thoughts of nights passed…wounds from hunters arrows…and his still wounded wing was all to much of a reminder of his close call…to the young elfmaid he still owed a great debt…and if there was one thing his clan held above all else was paying ones debts. Then and there he decided to make right ten fold the blight he had set on the young elf and her companions that night.

He stared down the long Lorimar Road, the elf had parted ways…though it might take a good bit of time he would find her and make things right.
